AGE CONCERN

I'm always keen to get back into it after a summer of working and this year more so than ever. I even broke my golden rule of not starting anything until I was officially 'free'. I got a request from Ed End to do vocals on a whole album he was working on & I'd said yes before I fully realised the scale of it; clocking in at 90 minutes with only 5 tracks I was obviously stepping out into uncharted territories. It didn't take much listening to know this was a very exciting challenge and I fully immersed myself into it over the course of 2 weekends. We were both thrilled by the way it all gelled, realising we'd somehow invented something neither of us had ever heard before. Already released as a FREE DOWNLOAD and due for further release physically - rADio eNd - HUM ANTENNA - I was also super keen to get to work on a collaborative EP with MRS DINK, although we've both done remixes for each other this is the first time we've done a proper 'work' together. Her tracks were eclectic and varied, initially leftfield techno but then steering quickly into electronic experimentations that got my blood racing. We're currently figuring out obscure formats to release this on, hopefully before Autumn, so in the mean time check out her remix album which I contributed 2 mixes to. I did 4 remixes for her, keeping 2 to be included on the LONG AWAITED 'LOVE IS FOR OTHERS', a project started way back in 2018 with Toby Borrow... Yes, finally it's released in all it's Industrialised dystopic grime and beauty. To say I'm over the moon about the album hardly even scratches the surface.... what a journey! ////// Out of the blue, a 2 day day intense solo session spawned PURPLE CIRCLE, an album as quickly released as it was recorded, totally spontaneous, quick fire, unplanned recording where one track informed the shape of the next. I immediately sent selections of these tracks off to would-be co-writers to continue where I'd left off, the fruit of which should become a sister album to be included in a further complete PURPLE CIRCLE release which takes in audio, visual and text. There are currently 5 very different artists working on this project and I'm confident it's going to be quite an all encompassing opus on completion.
Of course this is not all... any concerns that I might get less productive with age are definitely unfounded!! COMING SOON... 7" lathe cut single with space/psych/komische outfit vert:x, followed by CD album. Also a new REVBJELDE ALBUM, which I've already heard & it is an incredible piece of work. Me & David Harrow have teamed up once more & have a 5 track EP that we're talking to an LA label about. I'm sure there'll be other oddities and spontaneous expulsions along the way,.. where will it end, I wonder... I just updated my discography and I think I can lay claim to 133 releases since I first started out back in 1982 with THE BOX's debut 5 track 12"... crazy. |
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WR0NG?

It's the end of Feb, 2021 & there's a shit-load to be caught up with. What happened to the end of last year? What hole did i get sucked into until now? It's a good job i've stopped expecting to find answers! What i do know, is that last year's releases came thick and fast, but even then, i still felt like i'd not been doing much as many of the releases had been in the pipeline for some time. NEW YORK HAUNTED also featured with 3 releases (FUCKRACISM / KUVERA B / PIG BROTHER) The Kuvera B 'Black Dogs All Around' album had been in-process and mutation for quite a while, so it was great to see that finally breathe air. It also triggered my own further demixings which you'll find HERE. Out of the blue was Howard Stelzer's triple CD release, which is themed on colours... my tracks LILAC & TEAL. It really is a treat of leftfield cassette manipulations & ultrasonic texturalisations! CHECK IT HERE Hopefully all the links are working on the Discography page if you want to find anything else. So, now to this year, weird as it is! Here in NZ we're blissfully uncontaminated by the rest of the world as their blundering governments lead them unconvincingly through our favorite pandemic. The repurcussions, however, are definitely global. As commentary for the times (UK-wise) REVBJELDE reacted with the seed of an idea called FUKKO THE CLOWN, which i was quick to elaborate on. The label liked the results enough to rush the track out as a limited run lathe cut 7" HERE. Around Easter should see the release of the new Revbjelde album & there's a couple more tracks that i get to vocalise on. Beyond that there's the VERT:X album which was recorded last year and is being finished as i type. Also vert:x related is XOND, Dave Millsop's project, plus yet more geetar business with a return appearance with Albin & the crew from DER BLUTHARSCH etc. My very long awaited electronic/industrial album recorded back in Australia in 2019 is still awaiting release, though probably not through SLEEPERS anymore as Covid has sent them into too a deeper slumber. I still have hopes of getting this released elsewhere & will be pushing for that to happen as soon as i can dedicate the time. MRS DINK has sent me material for a collaborative album, which i'm itching to get started with, especially after recently completing vocals for the rADio eNd album, which you can check on as it progresses HERE. I must say, i'm pretty excited by this, it's pushed a hole in the fuselage of possibility, that's for sure! So, at this point, it's already shaping up to be a very rewarding year of new music, plus... i'm sure i'll throw in a few gleanings from the vault along the way. Cheers. <>P |

GABBA BLUES & BLACK DOG MACHINATIONS
Autumn is giving way to winter down here in the valley whilst, meanwhile, in the northern hemisphere it's a weird shitshow of of summer lockdown and meglamania. None of this seems to have slowed down the sonic schedule & 2020 has already seen 10 releases!
First off, a bit of a catch up on the 3 videos that are the work of Paulo Bastos. Paulo is a friend of Henri Sizaret, my co-conspirator for NOT NOW (also working as AkA), and had time to spare due to lockdown in Portugal. We're extremely grateful for his work; what a great guy!

NOT NOW is a a collaboration with Henri Sizaret (AkA) that was instigated last year and has taken a fair bit of patience not to release! I was determined to find a suitable label for this release as i felt it was a significant work that needed the chance of reaching a new audience. D.M. Nagu is a collage artist i've worked with on several releases &, in the precess of agreeing on artwork, he put me in contact with The Tapeworm, a cassette only label operating out of London and releasing a very eclectic and perverely diverse catologue of sound. The label were enthusiastic about the release but their schedule would mean waiting. We agreed it was worth the wait. It's now available (but going fast) through the TAPEWORM bandcamp HERE.
I also forgot to mention the PERRO NEGRO release with Jeff CASE, who also supplied an awesome backing track for the Groftr album;... this is some proper dark Black Dog shit! There's also been a couple of tracks appearing on 2 vast compilations. Firstly THE WORLD IS OVER, a huge project curated by Yoshiwaku that contemplates on whether the human race should continue! The track is a alternate version of DEFACE (original version on HOT CROW FROM THE WRONG HAND SIDE) that feature the guitar work of Natascha Schampus. The other release is a V/A commpilation on Extreme Is Everything, titled HUMAN HAUNTED WORLD. The album is the work of MACHINIST & is described on Juno as Gabba.. so that's a first! COMING SOON - CRIMINAL FACE bring their 2nd release to Wrong Revolution, dismembering and re-configuring the sounds of House, Hip-Hop & Bleep Techno in only the way they can! The endless waiting game for the release of the P.HOPE / TBC / MRS DINK / KUVERA B (EXPLODING MIND) album 'Love Is For Others' continues. Well, this wasn't part of anyone's plan but it's become the greatest show on earth, replete with clowns, illusionists, death defying stunts and a cast of millions who are incredulous at the blatant lack of empathy and insulting shows of greed the Elected Ringmasters are capable of. Here in NZ we're focused on eradication and people rather than containment and economy, so our story is somewhat different; a mere sideshow, perhaps, that refuses to follow the irresponsible lead of the Grand Egotists. On the positive side (& positivity may well be the only weapon able to bring lasting change beyond all this) it seems the artistic communities are at the fore of giving and sharing in the hope of making the LOCK-DOWN a bit more bearable & offer some distraction from the constant barrage of ill tidings. Here at the Tutaki Compound of WRONG, like everyone, we're having to make adjustments and the switch from my summer stint of work to Autumn/Winter creative mode is slightly fractured but slowly coming into focus. Already there have been several releases through other labels; The ever supportive KinetiK Records have released SUFFERHEAD 85/13, an incredible vinyl edition that captures 2 Hope & Harrow EPs in a choice of Black or White from the years, unsurprisingly, 1985 & 2013. It looks amazing and sounds equally stunning... check it HERE. BURIED TREASURE have also released the REVBJELD album Hooha Hubbub to wide acclaim. Alan Gubby is the man behind both the label and the band, recruiting an awesome cast of musicians to produce a truly individual and inspired record. I'm represented on 3 tracks of the album and also a limited edition lathe cut 7" with a cranked up and psyched out remix by vert:x - highly recommended for all you old acid heads and newcomers to altered mind states! There are also a couple of fine videos to accompany the release. START YOUR TRIP HERE. & then head over Youtube for visual enhancement in excelsis! Another version of Michael Ward's Xzyles track FAR FROM GOD has also found its way out as FREE DOWNLOAD. 3 old tunes on the wonderful CHERRY RED 4CD Bookpack 'Dreams To Fill The Vacuum' Bringing everything up to date is the Hope & Harrow FRIQUE HEAD BLUES EP. This one's sat around maturing for about 18 months, waiting & waiting for the right label to invest in a physical release. Encouraging noises have been made but with the onset of COVID-19 and the reigning in of just about everything it seemed an opportune moment to offer it up for FREE, after all a bit of ethno-electonique-blues always works as an anti viral balm; it's just a matter of Good Vodou! That's everything up to date & i'm hoping there'll be a little more stability and maybe a yearning for positive revolution by the time of my next WRONG update. 2019 Releases Collected; as you do at this time of year! >>> & Oh what a year....
David Harrow and Peter Hope. New tracks Feel + Fear & Love appeared first as a lathe cut 7". Released by KinetiK for Record Store Day. And then A digital version + extra tracks came out through Wrong Revolution in A5 card packaging (limited edition). We also collected all our Acid tracks together and released it through Wrong Revolution, once again in an A5/CDR limited format. The digital version of BLUE ELECTRIC also came home to Wrong Revolution, adding to gathering of all things H+H which will continue into 2020 NEW YORK HAUNTED released the wonderful IN DEBT TO THE PRESET (download), on which i contributed a track using only the Samba preset on my Yamaha Electone HC-2 Michael Ward Mzylkypop created a fine 12' EP of Xzyles from Sheffield (Adi Newton, Stephen Mallinder & myself on vocal duties) A very ambitious project which, despite initial reservations, has found a place in my heart. I'm not quite sure how many tracks Meagan (Mrs Dink) & me have collaborated on to date, but there will definitely be more! on the CODEPENDENT 091 release (download) i did a vocal on 'My Unicorn' & i remixed Cla$$y as $hit on the Diabolique album (CD & download). I always love getting involved with Meagan's music... it ticks my box, no question. Dylan Davis contacted me about doing vocals on some acid tracks. As with the Xzyles track the lyrics were already there, although i did add a few things and write all of the Hot Bitumen track. SOIL dropped this on cassette & dl. Another NYH producer, Joel John, got me to write and vocalise the ACID ICARUS track that appeared on Land Of Dance 12" Planer Alliance Vol.1. There's also a cool video on Youtube for this. Two big favourites here. GROFTR was an amazing project that came together very quickly and found me doing improvised collaborations with some highly eclectic and talented friends, both old and new. Out on Wrong Revolution in A5 card + CDR package. Out of the blue a contact from Howard Steltzer requesting a freeform vocal to be deranged and decomposed as part of his ongoing musical catalogue of cassette manipulations. Absolutely fascinating & far out. Dble CDR release through Chocolate Monk. Winding up the year - 2 compilations. The Cherry Red Sheffield comp. includes THE BOX, HOPE & PODMORE METHOD and CHAIN. This looks to be a fine gathering, though i've yet to get a copy. And finally, back to where we started, with the HOPE / HARROW FEEL track included on the KinetiK 2019 Annual Sampler. (Cassette / dl) which is a great collection and only 3 Euros! <><><> Strangely enough the 3 top priority releases that i wanted to come out this year didn't!. However they're DEFINITELY scheduled to be out in 2020. These were NOT NOW (Hope & Sizaret), P.Hope/Exploding Mind LP (feat. T.B. Confirmed & Mrs Dink) and, maybe the final chapter of HOPE + HARROW. (also look out for reissue of SUFFERHEAD EP's as a vinyl album on KinetiK). Thanks for your support & thanks to everyone i've worked with this year. October is drifting away, which means, down in these parts, summer is howling at the gate to be let in... not that you'd notice after last night's snowfall on the mountain. Not to worry though as there's a bit of news regarding a clutch of HOT NEW RELEASES. FIRST - Teamed up with Acid Supremo Dylan Davis for a rather nice cassette release on SOIL - DANCES ON ALL FOURS
SECOND - The bizarre world of a cassette manipulator spills out into a double CD of totally out-there textures and frequencies with HOWARD STELZER's Anathematization of the World is Not an Adequate Response to the World ...it's just WRONG in all the right ways! - THIRD - JOEL JOHN's ACID ICARUS finally makes it out on LAND OF DANCE records. We've had to wait a long time for this one to drop, so we're pretty pleased it's finally out and flying towards the sun! >>> & 4th I did a remix fior the awesome Mrs Dink which is now available on her most excellent DIABOLIQUE // Of course the best way to go with any of these is the PHYSICAL format but any-which-way-you-can will be truly appreciated. INVENTING NEW BODY PARTS

Ripping apart old methods is something that is a recurrent theme of my stumbling progression through the world of music! As winter edges tentatively towards spring, here in New Zealand, i find myself eager to clear out the old and embark on something new and unknown. The first fruit of a new methodology is the 6 track EP grǫftr which is a series of improvised collaborations with old and new friends.The styles are totally mixed, from Mrs Dinks zoned out techno to PLAMMM's innovative improvisations. there's even a 1983 KonstruKtivists track and a reaquaintance with my old sparring partners Charlie Collins & Derek Saw. On top of that it's a FREE DOWNLOAD,so pile in, you've got nothing to lose!
Out of the blue the wonderful folk of Kinetik have agreed to do a VINYL re-release of Hope + Harrow's 1985 SUFFERHEAD EP. We've added 2 demo tracks that have been rescued from cassette and the artwork has been updated, complete with full lyrics. We're looking at a November release for this one. ALSO they'll be a couple more HOPE + HARROW releases over the next weeks; BLUE ELECTRIC will get a digital release through Wrong Revolution & all the usual d/l sites, along with budget priced CD (reclaimed stock from Klanggalerie). Also some REAL SONGS!!! on the super catchy FRIQUE TOWN BLUES EP. >>> We totally love this cross pollination of country blues and African rhythms... should have a few folk scratching their heads whilst others get earwormed! Trying to keep abreast of things & getting creative with several tons of stone at the same time. Seems like it's a good formula as Wrong rolls on & i seem to be shaping up to having more releases this year than any previous, which is a pretty good thing to be happening on the 60th rotation!
1st. New York Haunted, Various Artists - For The Bees Really. Our source material, the sound of bees,...buzzing. Some total killer/killing tracks here. Hope & Harrow Do Acid, Wrong. HERE Totally stoked the limited CDR version with the pretty booklet SOLD OUT! Also a surprise Square 7" HERE. Brilliant sounding lathe cut. Real pleased to be working with KinetiK. Digital version from Wrong Revolution HERE. including 3 exclusive remixes. Love this track that i guested on for Mrs. Dink. (more to come!) Bringing it totally up to date is the latest NYH FREE comp. POPULARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT

A life time of avoiding contempt seems to be paying off as the Old Man gets closer to the river! Winter 2019 is shaping up to be very productive in exactly the WR0NG way.
But before i get into that i'll try to re-cap a couple of things as i've been a bit lax in updating here whilst i've been doing my summer duties for the Dept. of Conservation. First off; the awesome lathe cut 10" clear vinyl of Apple Eye & White Grass no.2 that came out on KinetiK. This was the 1st fruit of the Melbourne Sessions with T.B.C.> Check it out there may still be a few copies left. The pressing sounds absolutely amazing, so big thanks to Savvas at KinetiK for making this possible. The digital version is available here & there will be a full length vinyl album coming out through Sleepers (Berlin) later in the year. Finally the SHANGRI-LIES remix project of Drain/Greed/Hunger got released on glorious cassette & digital at a ridiculously low price c/o of wonderful NEW YORK HAUNTED. Thanks to the remixers; Oicho, dyLAB, Kuvera B., Ole Mic Odd, Mrs. Dink & Primitivo. Anything any of these do is worth checking out. RECORD STORE DAY (13th April) release from HOPE+HARROW. This will be only my 2nd 7" release in my never ending career! Limited to 50 copies and available, once more, through super-sexy KinetiK. As we head into winter here in NZ i'll be pushing on with a whole raft of releases with David Harrow (both old & new). There's going to be several collab releases with the afore-mentioned Mrs. Dink; she's already done a couple of awesome remixes for me, i've done a couple for her and she'll be featuring on the Sleepers Records LP. Other collab work in the pipeline includes dyLAB, Kuvera B & Drvg Cvltvre and also a tiotally off the wall exorcism of electronic blues with the prolific Henri Sizaret/AkA. More news on all these as soon as i have it. As yet i have no confirmed releases specifically on WRONG REVOLUTION, but there are tentative plans for some serious BOX diggings!.... plus discussions with CRIMINAL FACE, as well as some free archival rarities to mark my stepping into the unknown beyond the 60th Parallel !! Bloody Hell it's raining buckets down here on the South Island of NZ, whilst meanwhile the Northern Hemisphere fries!!! But winter, for WR0NG is always a busy time.. so on we go. First up is that Richard H. Kirk pulled the Black&White Medicine 7 track; which is a real shame as, in less than 2 weeks, i'd had 4 request from labels to do a physical release!! What can you do? There's no reasoning with paranoia that wants to shoot itself in the foot. So all those who were quick enough to download it, well done & thanks for your generosity and support.
Hot on the heels of that (un)release was PETE HOPE/NO SCENE - SIXSEX EP, which i was really pleased to finally get out into the global market place. Yes, it's awkward, ugly & beautiful, dirty & indefinable. The cream on the bukake cake was the stunning collage work of D.M.Nagu (check his work here). What more can i say, wild abandon isn't everyone's cup of tea! I forgot to mention the inclusion of TOO HOT (originally on the 1986 Peter Hope / David Harrow SUFFERHEAD EP) on Peripheral Minimal's PROPHECY + PROGRESS album available as both Digital & Vinyl. Well worth checking for any electronic retro-heads out there. Over the last 3 years or so i've had various collaborative excursions with Croatian Electronic artiste Iv/An, and i'm now proud to announce a joint release of 4 track EP (listen & buy here) featuring 2 original tracks and 2 stunning remixes by KUVERA B. & OICHO (David Harrow). The packaging, as always with Iv/An's releases is exceptional. I have also spent 2 weeks in Melbourne laying down the basics of a batch of tracks with old rave-head Hi T Bias. The first few of these 'works in progress' are presented for your delectation over on Soundcloud. And as if all that isn't enough i'm back working on a NEW BUNCH of tracks with DAVID HARROW... & they are shaping up to be a total FRIQUE OUT!! Stay Tuned! A PERPETUAL QUEST FOR THE UNCONVENTIONAL

So here we are in 2018, increasingly separated & fragmented by the divisive actions of world's elite, cowering in the corners and snarling like rabid dogs. Maybe this'll be the year when we get organised and reclaim a bit of people power? Anything is possible if you're not afraid to die (so said the wonderful Butterflies Of Love). Meanwhile WRONG prevails & somehow i manage to continue to find ways to release music. Just before xmas POST INDUSTRIAL FORGERY (Peter Hope & Charlie Collins) finally emerged from sweepings of forgotten factory floors (the album was also previewed as a FREE EP by Attenuation Circuit).
2018 was righteously kicked off by NEW YORK HAUNTED with the wonderfully titled Fuck You And Your Influential Friends download album (all proceeds to Homeless charities worldwide), on which i contributed the track PUSHOVER. That the next track on the album is by SHIT & SHINE, who i've been diggin' for years, is deep joy indeed! There'll be another New York Haunted release soon; the SHANGI-LIES EP, which originally came out as 12" on Parrot's Crooked House label is coming out accompanied by reworks from NYH Family artists Kuevera B, Ol' Mic Odd & Dylab, along with an OICHO version (David Harrow) and my own slice of pH2 madness. Other upcoming 2018 business includes a new collaborative single with IV/AN and sewing together of an uncompromising full length NO SCENE release. DO YOU WANT SEX? - WRNG32

BIG THANKS to Miff Morris (@REVELROUSER) for the write up/review below Pete Hope's Exploding Mind 'Do You Want Sex?' is Pete Hope's 2nd fully fledged solo album, even though he has been releasing music since the dawn of time! I absolutely love the impact Pete drives home with such a bare-bone electronic approach. This clever stripped back sonic excursion provides a direct hit of raw infectiousness, drawing from the roots all the grittiness and edge of slanted, abstract expression you could ever wish to drown yourself in. Pete says If he was more technically minded & had fancier equipment then the album would sound different, but he's not & he don't, so it doesn't.... I say that Pete's striking poetry is complex onto his unique self and the sounds in which he chooses to create is a natural extension of his artistic expression. That seems pretty technical to me, along with being true to the raw moment. Pete creates strong atmospheric music at an exquisite rate, I just imagine him brimming over as he lays down track after track. That is the right kind of technical if you ask me..... It's hard to believe this is only his second ever fully-fledged solo release as he has extended his inspirational talents far and wide, enriching a deluge of collaborations and band projects over the years. Dana Allan Young is a true maverick of electronic music. His approach is pure and undiluted and his imagination incendiary. He holds no truck with false sheen or artifice and composes with a fearless bravado not dissimilar to Franz Kline or Jackson Pollock. GREAT NEWS >>>> The pH2 Acid project mutated into life on the back of the CRIMINAL FACE EP. Whilst digging out the hip-house cuts a couple of long lost ACID killers surfaced. I started contacting people who might be interested in jumping aboard. My old friend David Harrow put on his OICHO head and augmented the first track (Double O), Da GobliNN chipped in with a incendiary reworking of Acid Trouble, long time collaborator DJ Parrot gifted a brace of Crooked Man trax (Plastic People Man & Brown Acid), Oicho came back swingin' from the hip with Muthaload & Planet Wrong... !! Damn, it was suddenly sounding very strong. We twisted and tweaked, mastering maestro Toby Borrow got super involved and then it was time to dip toes into the acidic waters & see if anyone out there was up for the trip. Big encouragement came back and new contacts were made. As the process continued i realised that my favourite label of the past months was still out of the loop; New York Haunted. The tracks were soon Tilburg bound and the response was an enormous thumbs up. I couldn't be happier getting GUT ACID released through NYH and having the opportunity to become part of the NYH Family... amazing talent and variety literally oozes from the label. Connection made; Sheffield, L.A., Ontario, Melbourne, Tilburg & Tutaki. I think this trip is going to keep us high for a good while yet..... Enjoy!!

A pretty piss poor summer comes to a close here in NZ; cyclones batter the north island and we're all getting bucket loads of rain. Surely one of the wettest 12 months i've experienced. Global confusion & leadership illusions.... Strange days, indeed. Out of all the uncertainty Wrong Rev is proud to bring you the new project of NO SCENE, which strives to be beyond categorisation, No rules, No fear. So far there are 2 EP's on offer at very affordable prices as downloads HERE and there will be more to follow as the experiment in unpopularity continues!
ACID pH2 has moved along well and is ready to be thrown to the four winds in the hope that suitable label with electronic dance-type credentials will be wooed to release it.... fingers crossed. ALSO.... DEATH & DOLLAR$ by Pete Hope's Exploding Mind is ready and waiting for release. Still not quite sure if this one's coming out on WRONG REVOLUTION as the practicalities of posting cassettes from NZ to the rest of the world put the price around the £9 mark, which is crazy... so i'm currently looking at ways to get it made in and shipped from Europe. ACID & CRIMINAL FACE

A quick shift in direction, of sorts, which started with the forthcoming ACID pH2 project and in the process unearthed a long forgotten gem of Hip House, lo-fi, hard as nails, cranked up wrongnuss from a South Sheffield Council Estate circa 1989.
The tracks were taken off cassette, carefully modeled and molded and then passed over to The Mastering Chief Toby Borrow in Melbourne to extract the crunch and the soul from these lost gems. So now, here it is - CRIMINAL FACE S/T EP ..... We're properly Cow Over The Moon about this release, it's everything that Wrong Revolution loves and is a fine precursor for the mega exciting ACID pH2 album which is gaining more and more momentum. 2016... what a bloody mess! wake up people or we're all through! Do what you can... be positive. On the music front we have the 2nd of the Colluded Works Series; Upsetting The Tone. Doing this series has been really inspiring and people are being really supportive of the project... more to come next year. Also in the pipeline is an ACID EP or LP (ACID pH2), combing some fresh material with uneartherd radical lo-fi dirt from way back when (Crooked Man / David Harrow / Da GobliNN / Jono Podmore / + more). Then there's an exciting new project with Jim Breedveld (Staalkracht). I reckon this could spill into some very odd territory! <> On top of all that, following on from TEN REVOLUTIONS OF WRONG, my 2nd totally solo album is finished, digested and ready to mke people question just what the hell it is they're listening to! Over the years i’ve had the good fortune of working with some bloody amazing people. Sometimes those projects got picked up and spat out into the world to good reception, other times they got out there but all we saw was tumbleweed. Then there were those that never even got off the shelf or out of the front door. To be honest, there’s no figuring it, some of the best work i’ve done has never got further than a tape or CDR on the shelf. Wrong Revolution has been a tool to get, at least, some of it out into the world in the hope that a few unhinged ears might latch onto the sonic offerings.
With Colluded Works Series the intention is to piece together work that spans the decades but retains a common spirit, some unclassifiable element that breathed fire maybe 30 years ago and yet those same flames are still burning strong, even today. #1 in the series is offered up to the Gods & All You Good People for FREE DOWNLOAD HERE! |

SOUTH IS THE NEW NORTH

It's all been quiet with Wrong Revolution so far in 2016, although it looks like some Real Revolutions ought to be kicking off around the world, the state of the bloody place under the mismanagement of corporate driven elitist governments! But at least here things are starting to happen. Wrong Revolution has now taken up new residence in the Tutaki Compound on the South Island of NZ... It seems to have been a lifelong theme that colder climes are always beckoning. On the sonic front there's a couple of things to report; firstly new full length album BLUE ELECTRIC is out through Klanggalerie on August 10th. The album David Harrow & myself probably thought we'd have out some time in 1987 never happened but our tentative digital EP of a couple of years back inspired the ever supportive Walter Robotka of Klanggalerie to make us kick ourselves back into gear and do some reworking of the EP and hatch another batch of beautiful popular music to bring it all up to full size and strength! To be honest, we are both really proud of the results. It's been great working with David again, his sense of rhythm and melody are properly top-drawer.
On the back of this release there will also be a digital release of my Pedro Muthaship - 10 Revolutions Of Wrong collection under the moniker of MUTHASHIP BLUES (HERE) & with different artwork. |

What a great end to the year!.... I've been a fan of SUN ARAW's work for years and am proper buzzed to get my collection of solo tunes out on his SUN ARK label.
As usual with SUN ARK cassette releases they come out in a batch and are always super-quality, wild-style, sonic-beautification of the highest order, so my advice is get there quick and put in your order & splash out on the whole batch. (This time 2 dble cassettes & 2 singles) That TEN REVOLUTIONS OF WRONG is my first fully solo recording makes it all the more special. Not since putting out LEATHER HANDS with RICHARD H. The 2nd half of 2015 has been fairly cruisy (as they say here in NZ. A few nice collaborations have come my way and good old Klanggalerie have done us proud by releasing THE BOX - MUSCLE OUT+ (the band's final gig recorded at Sheffield Leadmill).

There's a stunningly beautiful compilation on which i did a track with Ivan Antunovich... check it out HERE. Quick NEWS FLASH!!! <> midwinter here in Auckland but not quite complete hibernation. After doing a couple of local gigs it's a return to stoking up the fire under the machines and letting some new ideas burn.

But the main event is the release of MUTHASHIP BLUES; a totally solo album & my first proper recordings from the Land of the Long White Cloud. Originally intended as a Cassette & Download release but now there will only be a very limited cassette release due to label interest in America (who will be releasing on cassette later in the year). Check it out, it's solid gone real wrong!(Now Deleted)
The re-release train keeps rolling; THE BOX's MUSCLE OUT gets extended for a fine release from Klanggalerie (coming in the autumn) & also SOUP's CONDENSED has attracted a remastering and re-release (more info to follow). I've even got a couple of gigs under my belt, my first in the southern hemisphere.. so all in all everything's sweet as, bro! |

A sudden flurry of activity!! First Off >> A new release; (WRNG20) THE BONE ORCHESTRA - OLD NEWS FROM SOLAR PLEXUS. A download only release, although there is a rather nice print-off cassette sleeve included in the download file. It's a gathering of Bone remnants recently exhumed from the Wrong crypt!
Then an Industrial oddity which is being releases by CS Industrial > THE BOX vs. ALES VESELY / BOHEMIA 2.12.83. Don't expect guitars & saxophones, this is a field recording of a cold day in a sculptors yard. ALSO.... PETER HOPE & THE EXPLODING MIND - HOT CROW ON THE WRONG HAND SIDE... Finally... I've done a deal with the devil as Albin Julius Sunlight & his HauRucK! label and this rather lovely looking CD album of long toiled over tracks will enter the world early in 2015. AND LASTLY... The Revolution got devolved, sideswiped & remixed over the last 6 months; life certainly got in the way! Hopefully the next 6 months should be a bit more productive & predictable. It's not been complete silence & inactivity though & some great things have happened. Albin of Der Blutharsch & The Infinite Church of the Leading Hand asked me to contribute to 2 tracks on the All To Pieces EP, released by Sound Of Cobra. This is a beautiful thing indeed, One sided white vinyl with the blank side silk screened, amazing.
Also THE BOX @Doublevision has been released through the ever wonderful Klanggalerie. This has been a long process and we are all so pleased to finally get these tracks available again & to include some unreleased Richard H. Kirk Mixes, so big thanks to Walter Robotka (Herr Klang) for this. (Also Available as Download).
And so, what's coming next?..... The above artwork by Ashley Reaks is for the Sugar Boy Death Glambeaux Ya-Ya EP. Is it OUT THERE!!!! Oh yes..... His track on the cassette Glambience 2, released by the Ear Spook team, is an uncompromising avant-garde deconstruction of The Sweet's Ballroom Blitz & the EP takes that template and buries it deep in the Sonic Swamp... radical & totally liberated!

Much has happened in the last 5 months & the Wrong Revolution has been quiet, but now it's time to get rolling again and doing some southern hemisphere WRONGNUSS.
So, to catch up:- I dropped a vocal on the new Mushrooms Patience album, my old friend Mal from Cabaret Voltaire also appears, so well worth checking out. This is released by Klanggalerie who have also released David Harrow's 1983 debut album The Succession which also includes our original SUFFERHEAD EP, which still sounds pretty fresh!
The BIG NEWS from Klanggalerie though is the release of THE BOX @Doublevision which we are all so pleased to be getting out into the light of the 21st Century. It has all the recordings from Western Works, Richard H. Kirk at the controls, naturally, and includes several unreleased tracks and mixes. Hopefully the release date will be some time in May.
As far as plans go for WRONG REVOLUTION releases... we are easing in gently with a Download Single by THE SPILL.
The 2 Tracks, Victim & Up or Down were both finished in Sheffield shortly before leaving last year. We call it Electro Funkt & THE SPILL have been twisting the styles since the 90's, paying little heed to fashion or fiction, just dipping toes wherever the water was warm; checking Acid, Dub, House, Jazz, Hip Hop & whatever else tickles the soul. This one's a FREEBIE, so Download and enjoy.
The Padre Trash / Exploding Mind, HOT CROW album will finally be dropping in June on beautiful cassette (more info to follow soon). There is also some very skewed blues experimentations gurgling away under the Muthaship from the pairing of HOPE & JASNOCH.... it's Wrong... very, very wrong. Shouldn't be too long until there's a killer video peak show to really upset one and all.

KEEPING AN EYE ON THE WRONG HAND SIDE
Summer 2013 rolls along with the Revolutions of Wrong. All due for a change come October when the whole kit & kaboodle gets packed up & shipped off to New Zealand. Big changes indeed. There's been a bit of crate digging going on of late and it's been fun to review the magnificently proficient weirdness of The Bone Orchestra, sounding just as peculiar as it ever did & now available totally F.O.C. via Bandcamp. The constraints of living in a flat have slowed down the finishing of the EXPLODING MIND album, but it is coming! In the mean time i'm really pleased to finally get the chance to collect all the WHITE TRASH releases together and make them available. These really were some of the most deliberately abrasive slabs of Electro Punk to ever find their way onto vinyl! WHITE TRASH was also totally unstable by design & that we managed to hold it together long enough, without someone getting maimed, to get 3 releases out was a miracle in itself. At the moment it's hard to say what the last weeks of UK life will produce; there's plenty of pots on the fire & we're hoping to weld a few prosthetic sonic limbs onto the old machine before finally heading off to start over on 'The Wrong Hand Side of Spaceship Earth'. Natascha Schampus has dropped a killer track, DeafNoise has a new batch of gut churning vibrations, plus there's some strange oscillations re-emerging from old mate and collaborator David Harrow... Only time will tell. It definitely is the last days for CDs, there'll be another couple and then everything currently here will switch to DOWNLOAD ONLY in October. Vinyl is the future just as it was the past...... & NOW is always the time.

Unscheduled release 'SCOWERDON - Paradise Lost' breathed some good wrong fresh air into proceedings over the last weeks. This is an utterly WRONG release in every way. Hands-On Cassette tape edit compositions, montage, distortion, analogue keys & ghost strings. RECOMMENDED....
There's a new pair of releases from HOODOO (Eat Cake) & FLEX THIRTEEN (Twenty13) Coming for the end of the month and then it'll be time to look at the new PETE HOPE'S EXPLODING MIND material. (Album planned for July release). New tracks have been collecting over the last 18 Months. It's an interesting period to document and the polarity of Sheffield & Vienna give it an

At last the truly amazing Alicia Is White Trash gets her mini-album released. It was back in 2003 when the single 'I Don't Love You' won the discerning hearts and landed a place on the Rough Trade Counter Culture best of 2003 CD, so it's been a long time coming but still kicking & biting.
There are going to be at least 2 FLEX 13 albums & 2 HOODOO albums (DJ Parrot, Pete Hope & Dave Lloyd) full of their trademark TechnoBlues. Expect the warped No-Wave Blues stylings to continue via PEDRO TRASH.

Bloody crazy year it's been!! And as we log out of the 11th hour of 2012 all operations touch down back Sheffield, where this whole malarkey started back in 1982. Through Insanity & Revelation the year has been fruitful. There have been 5 great releases on the label PLUS an EXPLODING MIND cassette release on Italian label Santos Productions. On a personal note, I did a track on the new Der Blutharsch & the Infinite Church of the Leading Hand album & also teamed back up with old friends PARROT & MARK BRYDON to release the SHANGRI-LIES Greed EP (click to buy) , a dancefloor comment on world affairs! In the virtual world I bumped into Dana Young of Central Asian Nervous System who launched his CANS label on Soundcloud, which includes Exploding Minds 'She Talks Wild' & 'Deface' (demo).

A plundering of the depths of manipulated electro-organic audiography? - Who’s to say how best to describe the physical sensations of sound as experienced by a deaf musician.
LUNA MENTA, the discorporated mind that is DEAFTHNOISE, approaches sound from a totally different perspective than any hearing person could possibly imitate. The results are tactile, barbaric & unnerving. As listeners we enter a different world where our assumption of DeafthNoise’s intent can only be regarded as a partial and, more likely, incorrect translation.
LUNA MENTA magnifies what we forget to hear. “Frequencies are my alphabet ready to be manipulated into disjointed rhythms. Hearing is a precious tool people ignore at their peril. The machines are here. Their frequencies I steal to torment and pull apart until a dead zone is reached. This is the end of electric as a voice. After that it becomes a deadly presence unless...you have a hearing aid.”
The more you listen, the more you wonder how little you really hear.

It is an exceptional sonic experience which makes you question your whole understanding of how music is made. He smells the electricity & feels the sound vibrating through his fingers, his chest and his very being. Totally unmissable. OUT IN JULY.
Then we take the rule book for sound and vision and feed it through the Wrong Reducer to bring you Cassettezultan's disturbing dvd & cassette release:-
'mexico d.f.' Hailing from Mexico City cassettezultan's ability to marry lo-fi audio and video together to create something totally new and other-worldy is a total breath of fresh air in a world that numbs our senses with high definition, fast edit and audio sterility. It has been a real privilege to reform & deform this stunning body of work which showcases bands that are working in a parallel universe & shaping their aesthetics in a completely individual way. Seeing is believing. OUT IN JULY.

Not only did they pull it off their Raw Like Sushi Wu-Tang Chopstick Style but had the black clad noise lovers howling for more once they'd realised that brown was the new black & the Exploding Mind were Right to be Wrong.
A week later at the subterrainian Xi club in Vienna they lashed out again with an audio equivalent of projectile vomit that had the battered P.A. squealing & howling like a stuck pig whilst the audience soaked up the entrails.
Then to the studio with the magnificently controversial Albin S. Julius (Blutharsch & the Infinite Church Of The Leading Hand) recording a totally unfestive version of cult classic 'Bring Me The Head Of Billy Newman' & psychiatric ward anthem 'Mecca Bingo Wings'.
Exploding Mind WILL be televised 'cos the Revolution is Wrong.

I will, however be playing LEATHER HANDS, my first recording with Richard H. Kirk. last aired at The Paradiso, Amsterdam in 1986.

For 20 years PETE HOPE kicked against accepted forms. Locating himself in SHEFFIELD in 1982 with THE BOX (who’s musicians had just split CLOCK DVA after White Souls In Black Suits & Thirst) and spearheading numerous collaborations with Sheffield’s naysayers & avant garde journeymen as well as London based career mavericks such as Jono Podmore (Kumo, Matamono, Irmin Schmidt) & David Harrow (Technova, James Hardway).
A persistently restless soul, who’s only interest in the genre of fashion was in how it could be abused or reshaped, had over 30 releases between 1983 & 2002 before decamping to the Outer Hebrides for a few years R&R.
After the 2009 re-release of the Avant garde classic ‘DRY HIP ROTATION’ Klanggalerie now serves up HOODOO DANCE , a goat’s head soup of sweet meats, fried brains & splintered bone that captures some of the best of Hope’s collaborative work , of which much has been unavailable for many years .
Peter Hope’s story may well have been a very different one had he chosen to conform to changing trends or compromise his vision. We’re glad he didn’t & we’re also really glad he’s back, both recording and performing (a real and unmissable frontman).
His own label, WRONG REVOLUTION is setting itself up as a Civil Service Of Disobedience & The EXPLODING MIND is hard wired for maximum agitation.
